IT/IQ Tech Recruiters is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our client in Vancouver, BC.

  • Lead continuous improvement of the security, reliability, performance, and scalability of the infrastructure
  • Ensure ongoing alignment to industry best practices
  • Mentor other team members in various aspects of infrastructure technologies
  • Support code/system deployments and change management
  • Monitor and optimize costs
  • Respond to technical incidents in concert with other engineers
  • Ensure alignment to various compliance and risk management requirements


Top Skills Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar work experience
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS services (must have EC2, RDS)
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools
  • Solid grasp of setting up and operating Linux servers including shell scripting, operating system hardening, and performance tuning
  • Strong understanding and experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, DNS)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Must demonstrate working knowledge of information security, data privacy, and secure data handling processes and procedures
  • Experience with Java and/or Node.js a plus
  • Preference for experience with any of Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub, and Jenkins
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
