Responsibilities
The individual is expected to be autonomous in their operation in the sense that software quality is their responsibility.
Review solution design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable.
Consult with development teams to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements of overall system.
Participate in risk management meetings.
Design, create and manage test/automation tools that facilitate data gathering and test method execution.
Execute test plans and create test reports to describe complete software program evaluation, testing, and any and all corrections.
Recommend design improvements or corrections to developers throughout the development cycle/process.
Maintain effective communication with the development team, program managers and project managers on all changes coming from development in regard to capabilities, performance and any project limitations.
Monitor software program performance after any releases to prevent reoccurrence of operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.
Support release by verifying deployment software tools or any software used during release cycles.
Maintain defect tracking
Be able to document customer feedback and requirements as needed
Actively participate in core team meetings and daily meetings with the system test team
Adhere to Agile design principles
Top Skills Required
Experience in software quality assurance tasks
2-5 years of relevant system testing experience
Experience with all stages of software testing (Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, and Release Management)
Experience with Requirements Reviews with developers (and other system test specialists), and other stakeholders such as project managers and/or product owners
In-depth knowledge of test planning, test case creation and test case execution
Able to write SQL queries
Understanding of quality assurance test methodologies, deliverables, strategies, and techniques
Ability to manage multiple projects often with changing requirements
Excellent analytical skills
High level of initiative with ability to self-manage
Must be detail oriented, reliable, and possess strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
