IT/IQ in Support of the 2018 United Way Tech Grind

Bright and early on Saturday morning, IT/IQ Tech Recruiters joined 15 other tech companies to battle their way up the infamous Grouse Grind in support of the United Way of the Lower Mainland. For the third straight year, the United Way hosted the Tech Grind – a fundraising campaign to support local kids in need access after-school, mentorship, and anti-bullying programs.

This year, 13 of our intrepid teammates (plus a few significant others) tackled the 2.9-kilometre ascent, gaining over 850 metres along the way. Our team is proud to have sponsored $3,670 of the cumulative total of $23,186 raised for children in our communities.

“I’m proud that such a large percentage of our people supported this event,” said Feras Elkhalil, IT/IQ Tech Recruiters’ founder. “This year’s event was a tremendous success, both from a community engagement perspective, but also in terms of dollars and cents. As a member of the United Way cabinet, I’ve seen the incredible work that the United Way does in our local communities. I’m thrilled that our local tech industry had the opportunity to help support at-risk kids.”

Congratulations to everyone that took part in this year’s event, and an extra kudos to Feras Elkhalil (0:43) and Michelle Warren (1:02), IT/IQ’s quickest male and female participants.
